GENERAL COMMENTS:
It was a positive day for the livestock complex as the contracts were able
to close mostly higher as trades found the fundamental support necessary to
drive the contracts higher. No substantial cash cattle trade developed even
though bids were offered in the North. Hog prices closed higher on the Daily
Direct Afternoon Hog Report, up $0.99 with a weighted average price of $78.80
on 12,225 head. December corn is up 6 cents per bushel and December soybean
meal is up $5.90. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 76.85 points.
